Is the chim worth the extra money compared to a v8S of similar ages ie 92-93 have about 11,000 to 12,000 to spend, also average running costs for the pair per yr,servicing and normal problems that may occur.Anybody know thats maybe owned both over longish period of time.
Cheers

TVRs are constantly developed so any newer car is usually going to be a better all round. The Chimaera is a newer model, but the underpinnings of the early Chimaeras was not much different to a V8s so expect similar running costs.

Q1 - do you like the pre-cat growl? = V8s
Q2 - which shape do you prefer?
Q3 - do you want a day-to-day car? = Chimaera

I beg to differ. The Chimaera has a Griffith type chassis with double wishbones all round, whereas the V8S has rear semi-trailing arms.

Both great cars, but the V8S will always be less refined.
