I'd never really considered a TVR, but the back of my mind toys with the idea of a convertible and its surprising what deals turn up / how unpredictable insurers can be...

I have been eyeing up a local Chim 400, and have two key questions:

are there any specialist insurers who offer great deals? i tried confused.com as a first bet and it cost DOUBLE what a VX220 costs - and significantly more than a Turbo..Ouch!

secondly, does anyone make a hardtop for a chim / does the roof have leak problems if you dont have a garage?

thanks

Big Al.

A-Plan were good for me but the problem that you will have is if you don't have experience of driving very high performance/power cars. They will heavily load the premium for this.

Try Hagerty for a quote as well.

AS for leaking roof, some do, some don't.
Garage her if possible, or car cover if not - ideally..

if you can get hold of a copy of sprint magasine there are some good insurers in there, you also get a discount for being a tvrcc member, there is a company who do hard tops for chim they also advertise in sprint, but garaging is the best idea
