Hi All,

Could anyone recommend a battery for a chimaera 450 1998? One that is recommended as reliable, has a long life and actually fits in the mounting tray?!!

Also can anyone recommend a battery trickle charger / conditioner to suit?

many thanks in anticipation.

I've read on here that Halfords do a good one......about 30 quid I think. Also saw a thread where there are some solar powered trickle chargers that are even quite good in lower light. Search the threads and you should find a few suggestions........I would do it for you but I've GOT to go out in the Chim

I got my battery from halfords £60 - £70 or if you say your trade they give you a members trade card and you pay £30 you gotta love spotty teenagers laugh

I bought an Oxford Oximiser and found it to be great for mine - a few quite cheaply on Ebay at the moment as well and I just bought a cigarette lighter adapter from Maplin for a few pence....

How about this Turtle Shed. Brill' piece of kit and performs the function of charger and maintainer; I think it cost £30. I adapted mine with some bullet connectors to the charging leads so I've the choice of fitting a fag lighter plug or reverting to the battery terminal clips. To my knowledge it has all the safety functions of other maintainers but you see how long it takes to recharge a dead battery with one of those if ever you leave an interior light on. . . . erm, which I never do of course!
