Just lately my chim seems to tickover at 1500rpm (usually) about 1000. when i am traveling between lights or stopping and starting a lot when i stop it ticks over high at 1500 for about 5-10 seconds and then drops to 1000. Any help would be apreciated

thanks

Sounds like it might be your stepper motor. The usual advice is to clean it. On my old Chimaera the whole thing had seized and the car would idle at 2000rpm. You can remove it from the plenum and watch if it moves when you cycle the ignition.

Yup sounds like the stepper motor to me too, you will need to unplug it then use a large spanner to remonve it, i clean mine with white spirit, let it dry then put it back together, just be careful not to over tighten as it is expensive to replace the housing, i do this about every 6 months as part of the maintanance on mine.
