Does anybody know what car if any the light switches are off. Mine is a 1996 with the 3 black buttons on the radio panel. I cant find any part numbers on them that relate to anything in google.

Thanks

Maplins / RS do switches like this. You may have to use the black button covers off yourexisting ones to ensur a good match.

eg:www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=19261&doy=13m4
You want the Double Pole Latching switch & black caps.

Cheers spend, you are a mountain of knowledge. Thanks for all your replys about my electrics, ive had the dash top off today for that lighting problem and it appears the switch is causing all the madness. Out of caution im gonna replace all three.

Thanks again

I'd test the switches first - all 4 are the same (fog / light / main / dash). Its quite tricky to split the radio panel/switch rack just to replace switches.. once you release the radio panel you will have access to the wiring & switches - I didnt know you could access them from the top of the dash.

Have you got the radio panel out yet? I think there is a guide on the Chim pages for the dash, but not sure about the radio panel?

Remove radio & cage, 4 screws hold the panel in - you should see them as the cage is removed. The switch mounting rack is interlocked to the facia (and bound + aradalite commonly) - it has to be removed for the switches to be replaced IIRC. In the absence of anything else that should be enough info to get to the switches, just remember a lot of the cars differ a tad.. Do make a note of the wiring to the switches, its a bit of a jungle behind those ones (not to say they are correct to start with )
