Having made a previous post about the unsupportive nature of the seats in my Chim and the fact that they seem to 'move' with you as you go around corners, i've just made a startling discovery. The reason for this is now obvious, when you go around a corner the seat moves up through the floor and then back down yikes
From underneath the bolts looked a funny angle and when I couldn't get the socket on the last one I pushed up a little harder and the nut disappeared up through the floor. The fibreglass had broken away to make a hole bigger than the washer. Looks almost as though the floor had rotted away ?? It was obvious to me that something didn't look right so why not the garage who would have had it up on ramps a few times and why not the MOT tester ?? Anyway, seat out and will now have to think about some repairs to the floor.
The reson for the title of the thread is because the previous owner was a big chap and must have weighed in at a good 16-17 stone I would have thought so this must have had something to do with it.(he also had it 8 years so it took some punishment )

THe seat fixings are just bolted through the grp, so if they are loose at all they will wear their way through!!

tower view do a set of metal seat braces that you bolt under the car to the chassis and to the seat.
