Anyone else had theres out?

I have a 94 Chim, and hence have the black ones.....but I prefer the look of the silver ones.....so I took mine out and sprayed them...all fine......unitl I came to put them back......

being an idiot, I didn't take any notice of where all the spacers and washers etc went....

so when I came to putting it back together, I've got it in, but they dont turn very well and ther is a slight gap in between the 2 dials which I'm sure was bigger than before.....and the top dial scrapes on the upper part of the gap...not ideal as I've sprayed it silver and dont want the paint scratching off all the time!!

Anyone know what order the bits should be in??????

Or has anyone got a diagram?????

I have a first edition 'Bible' but it only refers to the heater controls briefly...and with no diagram rolleyes

If not, they'll just have to stay as they are...rolleyes

I have a Dash out,but reluctant to pull apart, however there should be 1.5 to 2 mm gap between the dials, and in good old fashion TVR style its simply packed out with washers at the bottom to suit an even fit.

Yes, but I put the washers back where they came from, I swapped black dials for alloy ones. TBH each car may be spaced differently anyway - build it up behind the dash to get the spacing it can't be too hard, just a little patience/perseverance required.

I have now anthracited my old black dials and might put them in when I have the inclination.

thats okay...i wouldnt expect you to pull it apart!!!

the one i got from ebay is on the way.....so i'll probably transplant that one into my car as it is the upgraded silver one anyway. ....i'll make a note of where all the bits go before i put it in!!!!
