Was driving down the road when I heard something metallic under the car, like a stone bouncing off the road and hitting the car underneath. Then the gear lever sunk to the right hand side and I could no longer get into 1st/2nd or 5th gear.

Up on the ramp, I could see what looks like a bolt missing on the right hand side of the gearbox housing.

Anyone know how I get to put a new one in? Is it a rover part or a bespoke TVR part?

The Chim is an early (1993) 4.3hc one.

Any help would be gratefully received

Ah! Not sure?! If they are held in place by a bolt (or similar) then yes. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what is missing?

Hi Dave, looks like it's just one side, so hopefully the bracket isn't broken

there should be two rubber mounts havf way along the gearbox that are abouty 2" in diameter. if it is one of these then you have not got much to worry about...easy fix...apart from it could be putting some weight on the gear lever linkage...

Dropped it off a local garage (non-TVR) and they think it's just a bush that fell out? Though they are worried on the lack of space to actually fit the thing...
