Clutch bite problems!!!

I have been experiencing some very strange clutch action over the last few weeks. The bite has been getting lower and lower and is now only approx 1 to 2 inches off the floor(from cold). When i have driven it for a few miles (10-20miles) it tends to rise back up a couple of inches. I use this car everyday (95 4ltr)and when first purchased approx 10K miles ago i was a little concerned the bite was near the top. The clutch was relpaced 23K miles ago and apart from the varying bite height the clutch works fine. Also the clutch pedal has become a lot 'floppier' since purchase. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Many thanks Steve.

It sounds like you're short on clutch fluid. Check the reservoir, then check both master and salve cylinders for leaks.

Must be honest i havent checked the fluid level yet( don't shout at me) just thought i would pick some brains before starting investigating! will check it this weekend. ta.

Does every TVR have a floppy clutch pedal(lots of loose travel before any resistance is felt) and if not what is the problem, i'm assuming master cylinder or could this be down to fluid level again. ta

Mine is stiff from the moment you put your foot on it. So's the clutch pedal.

I'm glad to hear that .. so is it just me with a floppy problem then or have others suffered this????

Mine stiff too... never had a floppy one!!!
