Spent the weekend assembling all my front suspension and come accross a few problems.

First fitted PowerFlex bushes, there are two special bushes that are used on the botom back the one that uses half the outrigger as the mounting, right these have a mushroom shaped central pin but rather than being smooth it has a rough outer surface unlike the other central pins which are smooth, also showing 0.1 mm larger on vernieer, these seem very stiff to assemble and looks like a little of the glacier bearing has been shaved off when inserted. The wishbones were completely cleaned of powerder coat befor fitting. Its as if they have not been finnished properly during manufacture.

Second have all the wishbones in placed but not tightened up yet but there seems to be a little play in the chasis mount around the bolt holes, I assume this is because TVR powdercoat the whole chasis including the innerpart and seing as I have only painted them there is fractionaly more play, is this going to cause me a problem or when there all tight will they this befine, just wondering as with a little slop it could be quite noisy. I assume it is standard as most car I have seen the mount and wish bones are the first areas to go exspecially the edges on the mounts.

Also can you guys confirm that the top ball joint spacer sits at the front, have one pice wish bones.

i recently stripped my suspension down and the spacer is definately towards the front...mad a very strong point of remembering this and wrote it down on my strip down history on the pc (along with pics!!!)
Not sure about the other questions though. i wouldnt have thought slight movement would cause that much problem...once you have tightened the bolt is shouldnt move, apart from the bush pivot on the bolt.

The flanges all clamp up - just torque them up with weight on the wheels.

Dont know about Powerflex or spacers - (mine adjust a different way) I would suspect the spacer goes at the front to set the correct castor tho..

Hi Chris

I too had one of the stainless pieces with a rough surface in my powerflex-kit and i`m sure this is a production-fault as this is the surface the bearing is actually running on. I just got it replaced by my suppllier since using it would ruin the bearing very quickly.

Cheers Jens
