Having some unusual things happening when i use my wipers on intermitant. Sometimes it will run accross the standard one wipe sometimes twice and then six times and sometimes more! They always come to a stop and i've checked the motor to make sure it isn't burning out.

The other thing that's happening is when the engine gets hot the temp gauage has quite a lot of movement betweeen 70 and 90 degress whilst staionary, is this something to do with the actual temp sensor being knackered?

Any advice greatfully accepted!

The intermittent intermittent wipers are a feature.

Sorry, I'm in a funny mood this morning. Have a look for the relay being loose.
On my 4.3 Griffith its third from the left on the bottom row of relays.

The wiper park switch is most likely faulty, they only last as little as a year, depending on how much you use the car in the wet. Its on the bottom of the wiper motor. Unbolt the wiper motor (2 bolts on the clip) and roll it over a bit then pull the switch towads you and it should come out. If you search the forums this has been covered loads of times as its a very common problem, some one has done a handy diagram which shows how the three wires connect back in. Should cost about a fiver for a new one, they are also used on various landrovers, old style minis, various morris cars, black cabs etc, put grease round it to prolong its life.

They werent able to move that around - its always in the same place, like the ignition & courtesy light relays BTW

Except on the unusual 5+3 fusebox when they ran out.. as usual (an exception to the rule I mean).
