Well i think it's the carpets the car stinks when i get in it after it's been locked for a while.
The car does'nt leak anymore and the carpets have now dried out but the smell bugs me.
I was speaking to a guy at chatsworth who has a chim and he has made a box which fumigates your car.
He says that it eliminates bad odours pets, fags, damp etc.
It's like a fog machine similar to smoke you see at a disco shut the doors and windows and run the fogger for a couple of hours.
Once complete all odours eliminated a light smell of lemon is all you smell.
Ive not heard of this and asking the question has anyone else?
According to this guy car valeters are now doing this and mainstream garages and charging up to £50
As i say news to me.
Your comments please.

I Wouldn't bother, these things never work for long, tried it on a company car that smelled of dog and it worked for a couple of weeks and then the smell was back.

The only long term solution in my experience is to use some odour type spray and as long as the car doesn't leak anymore, the smell will go away eventually.

No way will any of these things like foggers, fabreeze etc work if the carpets are smelly - mildew in the fabric is not going to disappear with these treatments and a hot, humid day will bring it right out again. Who wants to get in a TVR and smell lemons rather than carnauba wax and leather? Get it retrimmed once you're sure you've stopped the leaks. Examine the removed carpets carefully so you can isolate the areas where water was getting in to check you fixed the potential leak points in that area. You'll get your money back when you come to sell it - no one wants to buy a dank-smelling TVR.
