Car died in 3rd gear?
Discussion
All,
Took the Chim out for a blat this morning after not driving it for a week. All seemed well for the first 25 miles and then while coming down a hill in 3rd the car completely died. Very odd...
So... stopped the car and restarted it. After that it ran like a dream so not really sure what went on there. Anyone got any ideas or have had similar experiences?
Also, how noisey should a power steering pump be? What is an acceptable level of whinning?
Cheers

PAS shouldn't really be whiney - probably means you're low on fluid. Easy to top it up - I seem to recall you need some dextron something or other - do a search on the forum to find out more.
As for cutting out. Sounds a bit odd, could be any number of things. Worth checking the obvious things like leads (I got caught out on this recently) and that they're all snug to where they should be.
