water pump

just had my tiv serviced and they found a small amount of play on the water pump and as im off to switzerland in a few weeks time i thought id change the pump my car is a 96 4ltr with serp engine,ive read in the bible that the pumps can differ does this apply to serp engines or is the standed stc4378 ok, as anyone had any problems fitting water pumps ?

I have the earliest serp disco (intermediate spec serp engine like TVR with dizzy) & had a late 4.6 RR. They both had STC4378 - so I thought thats the only one for serp engines.
