Chim fuel pump (Max bhp)

Hi,

Any ideas what the std fuel pump is on the Chimaera 400, is it the same as the 450/500. ect. I take it the fuel pressure is arround 3bar but what power will the std pump take.

The standard pressure is 2.5 bar without vacuum, the pump is rated at 2.5 liters/minute at that pressure, in theory that flow rate could achieve around 500 bhp but in reality you would want a substantial margin on the injector and pump flow rates and should be looking at something better at around 350-400. If you raise the fuel pressure to stretch the range of the injectors the pump flow rate drops so it will max out sooner.

Thanks V8s, I was planning on fitting it into my Kit car, (2.0 turbo) running at about 300bhp but 3bar injectors. If that is the flow rate it should be ok for that,
