My 500 HC can run perfectly, then without warning will cut out, re start almost immediately and run rough with both high and low tick over. Rectified temporarily be disconecting ECU. Any ideas out there???. Had a recon airflow meter but still think it might be the trouble.

Hi Max

Have you checked the steppermotor? If not, try cleaning this often helps and it's an easy 5 minutes job!

If resetting the ECU cures then the problem then one of the sensors is playing up and the ECU is either adapting incorrectly or going into a limp home mode. Could be the air flow but could be an ignition fault, temp sensor, throttle pot speedo sensor inpout or stuch injectors or a faulty ECU.

Trip to the professionals is usually the most cost effective way of solving the problem.
