Has anyone removed the black plastic steering column adjusting lever, may be to replace it with a ali leven tech replacement thingy? If so, can you tell me how to do it.

I have had a go at unscrewing it, as on the leven web site it looks like the end of the replacement lever has a screw thread on it. It did move about a quarter of a turn then stopped. I did not want to force it, as I was worried about breaking it (being on plastic). Do i just need to heave on it some more, or is there a locking screw somewhere? Just to let you know, I have not bought a replacement part so dont have any instructions on this.....Thanks.

It does just unscrew. The thread is metal so just keep on twisting. If you are struggling try wearing a rubber glove!!

Just a thread on the end, and no locking screw, recall mine was tight when changed for the Leven type.

Mr Fix it - are you dismantling this car piece by piece by any chance - maybe it's in a TVR dealer's showroom and you're stealing it bit by bit. How many visits do you think you'll need?

mine was a bit corroded and took a bit of force (previous owner hadn't kept the car properly waterproofed)

Been rumbled, the guy in the service dept were a bit suspicious about my baggy trousers....

Im looking to buy some and also design my own aluminium bits for my car. Will put some pictures on, of these parts when I get them made. Will probably be a few months away...too much DIY to do, Doh.
