Rear Screen small cut / hole
Discussion
Hi everyone, picked up my Chimarea yesterday, 97P Rosso Red 4.0L. Drove home into the garage just in time before the heavens opened. So spent all night going over her - learning......etc, etc.
A few questions please guys,
1. Can anyone please help me with what I can use to seal a small cut / hole about 5mm in length in the rear screen. Is it ok to use a glue or a bonding ? if so I was thinking about clear araldite rapid, but I do not know if this will make the hole larger by dissolving the plastic etc.
2. Also can I use a normal superglue to tack back a small area of the veneer where it has split and lifted?
3. Where can I optain the correct stone chip touch up paint for future.
Many thanks,
Carl.

Hi Carl, congrats on your purchase! Shame about the weather forcast for the weekend but you've a whole summer ahead!
In answer to your questions:
1. I've read others saying they have used clear silicon sealant to repair rear screen splits temporarily (and it has lasted over a year). Have tried something similar on another car and it seems Ok but I haven't given it a long testing period. For just 5mm I'd have thought it would do the trick though (be careful not to put too much on so that you get a tidy job).
2.For the dash I'd use Evostick or others have suggested Copydex.
3.For touch up paint try Gerbil (used to work at TVR and is the Guru on paint)- do an advanced search on this forum - put in 'Gerbil' and search the Chimaera forum (or any other TVR I'd imagine) for seveal references to Gerbil, including his mobile number IIRC.
Grab you chances over the weekend and enjoy the car (remember, if you've not driven a high performance RWD before, take it easy in the wet and let the power in gently).
Cheers.
