Unless you're on a track with a race tuned engine I doubt you'd see any difference at all. In France last year I tried the 100 RON Shell and noticed no difference at all.
Personally I'd save the money and just put Tesco 99 in.

Does anyone have any comparisons between the Tesco 99 and BP Ultimate 97 and Shell V Power, whatever rating that is? My 450 seems to like the V Power but I haven't been brave enough to buy the Tesco stuff

Didn't Evo do a test a few moths back? Tesco came out on top IIRC.

As for Ultimate, not sure why but my Chim runs like an absolute pig on it.
Loves V-Power and Tesco though!

Put V-power in mine and I thought it ran rough....BP Ultimate was fine confused I guess it comes down to what your car prefers and how it's set up?

Our Tescos doesn't sell 99

Thanks both of you. Mine seems to prefer V-Power but not rough on Ultimate - just not as good. So that's one negative for V-Power and one for Ultimate and none for Tesco 99. Hardly a representitive sample but I'm goning to squirt in a tank full of the Tesco stuff and see if there's any difference.

Hope you don't next see me on a new Topic "Help! Chim running rough"laugh

Thanks Frazer. That's about it for me too, V-Power so far the best and just OK on BP Ult. I'm gonig to try the Tesco 99 and may find the same as you that it's just not quite as good as the V-P.

Seems that everyone has different experiences... Mine is very smooth on V-max, with noticebaly no pinking.. but BP Ultim and especially Esso Plus pulls a lot stronger.. but not as sweetly..

My 400 is definitely stronger and smoother on Ultimate. Not noticed any difference between V-Power and Tesco 99. Since Tesco is nearer to me and costs less, i almost always use Tesco!

Personally I think it's like beer, on a cold Monday night a bottle of Becks tastes pretty average, but on a hot Satruday afternoon it tastes awesome.

My Chim runs great whatever I put in it, sometimes I think it's running smoother or stronger after filling up with V Power or Ultimate, other times I don't know if I can tell any difference. On a track day or a long thrash out I'll fill up with the good stuff just for the hell of it, otherwise why spend the money?

IMHO :-)
