Starter motor heat shield

Having had my first starting problem this week I was looking at the starter motor threads and a long time ago a heat shield was mentioned. Ive replaced my GRP heat shield as it had snapped at the neck. Yesterday I found it fits nicley between the starter motor and the manifold.
I drilled a small hole in the corner and secured it with plastic a tie to the chassis. All took 10 minutes.
It may prove to extend the life of the starter motor and help prevent solenoid from sticking.
Worth a try if you have one spare.
