Help! Rear view mirror needs changing.

Hi all,

My rear view mirror is knackered - it's all wobbly and rubbish and I'd like to change it. I'm a bit anxious about getting the sticky bit off the windscreen. I don't want to just exert brute force to the old mirror cos' knowing my luck the windscreen would crack! Can anyone advise the best way to remove it without damaging the glass?

The mirror should slide upwards and separate from the metal mount bonded to the windscreen. You can get a replacement from eBay or a dealer, it's a Peugeot 205 mirror.
