I actually have a V8S, and could do with a bit of touch up paint.
I could get some made up, but I've been told its originally a rover colour, can anyone shed any light on this ?
I've searched the forums and can't find a definate answer, only a few references to mini coopers.
If it is a rover colour can someone tell me the rover name of the colour if it is different?

Cheers

Chris

I got some Cooper Green made up at Halfrauds and it is actually pretty good !!
Did some touch up in a couple of prominent places on the bonnet and took me a little while to find them afterwards.....

OK sounds like the way to go then.
Second flaw in the plan is that I can't find any paint code under the bonnet !
Help !!

Ah don't worry about the paint code - just got the original owners handbook out and its in there.
P-168 if anyone's interested.

Cheers

In my handbook it said 168, when I went to Halfrauds the lad said it didn't exist. Trawled through the list of colours by name and it is actually 167. (or maybe 169 ??) either way it is one away from 168 !! But they list the colour as "Cooper Green metallic" so you'll be able to see it in their list.

Maybe - but I'll go with their listing of cooper green I think regardless of the number.
Cheers for your help.

It is definitely a Rover colour from the 90's.

I also got a small tin etc from Paints4u for my Cooper Green Chimaera and it was a perfect match.

Got a touch up tin for my silver Skoda Fabia and it was spot on too.

Their website couldn't find my colour from the code I entered so I e-m's them and they got back to me right away to say they'd be able to match it, which, obviously, they did.

This is a straight copy of my post in the S Series forum, but though it might also be useful here.

Well went to Halfords today (Netherfield, Nottingham) and guy could not have been more helpful.
Looked up TVR paint code on their system (as previously mentioned their code number is 1 different from TVR's, but still listed as cooper green metallic, P168 in my docs but P167 on Halfords system).
I now have 100ml of touch up paint which is a perfect match (just tried it) for £7.99
Those little touch up brushes, even if you can figure out the right one, only have 12.5ml in them, so for once I'll stick my neck out for halfords & say what a bargain.

Many Thanks to SimonV8ster for the Halfords tip.

Or you could just check with the 'authority' on TVR Paint colours - shout Gerbil!

Perhaps drop him a mail via PH. smile

Cooper Green is as it says, from a Mini Cooper. My brother's car is the same colour, but a slightly different shade to my previous S3. There are actually a few different shades of this colour. I have the formation code for it somewhere, if that helps.
