The wheel on my '96 Chim is fairly tatty, so I'm looking to replace it with an original off a '98 model, which looks from the photo to be identical. Can anyone advise if I need to replace the bush (knowing thatsteering wheels can be awkward to take off ?)

Not to sure but i think you only have to undo the 6 bolts and off it pops. Thats how it looks on mine anywaysmile not sure what you mean by bush confused

If its the same wheel you dont need to change the bush, just pop out and disconnect the horn then undo the 6 screws/nuts on the face of the wheel. It should be a straight swap. Ive done mine twice in the last year, eventually found one i like. Have you bought your new one, if not I have a spare sitting in my garage gathering dust.

Anyone have a spare one in bare metal rather than black. Would be interested in that.

Dont have a spare, but i took mine back to bare metal with a dremmel, patience and polish.
If you search the forums you should find a post that i made to describe the process. end result is good.

Yes mine is in good condition. its the black leather Personal type ive got a picture on my computer at home ill send it to you tonight.
I changed it about a year ago for a bare metal one, it has a slightly smaller diameter and i never really took to it. Then I managed to get a nice wooden one.
I'd rather it went to a good home than sat on a shelf. Where about in notts do you live. Perhaps we can meet up.
