Dashboard replacement

I know a few of you have changed your dashboards for stainless ones and other veneers, but is it possible for it to be changed to aluminium? has anyone done this and does anyone know if it will work or not? Mine is starting to crack and split quite a lot and i am looking to replace it.

not done it myself but if you have the dash profile cant see why not. I dont mean to offend but ali will oxidise and could end up looking a mess IMHO if polish etc should partly remove this oxide
