Servicing in/near Bath
Discussion
Evening all!
I've had my 98 (S) Chimaera for over a month now

and haven't had any problems yet (quickly touches wood!) ... and I'de like to keep it that way!
As this is my first TVR I have no idea which are the best places to get the car serviced and I don't fancy the idea of taking it to a garage that'll rip me off for the privilege of them having a TVR badge.
Can anyone give me advice/feedback on garages in the area that you've had good experiences with?

I have just taken mine to penninsula automotive in culumpton near exeter they are about to be/are main dealers price £345 for full 12000 service,(another main dealer quoted me £615 for the 12000 service) I have driven from bedford (221 miles) as these have been the most helpfull people I have dealt with.
There's a Bristol Region run-out this Sunday to Swindon where if asked nicely you will get all the latest good / bad / horror stories of SW servicing.
Just don't ask Russ, you could be there all day listening to his tales of woe
See the diary at www.tvrcc-bristol.co.uk and then give Sarah a call.
All the best - Duncan

I've used peninsula and it has to be said I really do rate Richard (chief mechanic fella). I would also recomend David Geralds in worcester (inkberrow). Both have their pros and cons, but are certainly better than main dealers, and each is recognised by TVR people (pistonheaders) as a good stamp in your service book.
>> edited to add... if you are around on Sunday It would be great to see you.

I can confirm Peninsular are very good. Hendrys in Malmesbury are probably the nearest, although they are main dealers so more expensive. Might be useful for emergencies though. Where are you? I am just outside Bath. Why not come to next Wiltshire meeting? Venue and times on TVRCC Wiltshire website.
