Got the Chim back in the garage last weekend after a short run, and the following morning noticing a small pool of Anti-Freeze mix under the header tank. Blamed myself for topping it up over the mark.

Today, started up OK.. Oil OK and water in the header tank, although noticed that tickover was a bit fast. Went for a spin....10 miles later noticed the temp gauge was climbing, but no visual signs of the fans coming in. Pulled in for 5 mins...header tank was cold...so took top off, to see water, so carried on. 4 miles later, the gauge is almost on 120..so turned back and drove very gently home. by which time everything smelt very hot..bit of smoke coming from under the Bonnet, and lots of ticking. Sweitched off in the drive and very shortly noticed water running along the lip of the valance below the number plate. Engine is still hot now and the Rads are gurgling, but even when I switch the ignition on, the fans won't cut in. Is it a likely bust radiator, or something a bit simpler?

Assuming the thermostat is opening (is the radiator / swirl tank hot?). It probably is the otter switch (at the bottom of the swirl pot.

Thanks guys..looks like it is the Thermostat. TVR shop have them in stock but only ones that open at 82 degrees. The Bible suggests 77/78. Where else can I try for one?
