Hi.... hope this is of some use to someone???? I insured my 1995 CHIM 400HC with Virgin Car Insurance.... With full No Claims Limited Mileage of 4000 and garaged.... Full Comp. was £324 with my girlfriend as a named driver.... And if you wanted to pay monthly? that is free!!!! there is no extra to pay like most other companys.... what you see is what you pay. OH YEAH I am 35 and she is 32.... Hope this helps someone????

A friend of mine has a 450 Chim, 28 years old and insured with Haggerty for £300.

I bet Haggerty would have bettered your quote.

But it's still cheap, well done mate smile

A plan my last 95 4.0HC was £260. My new 98 500 £315 which has a value of about 15k as very low miles .I do live in a place where if a rabbit gets run down its major news though.

I just changed to Hagerty and got a 4000 mile limit policy with the car garaged for £208 and I'm 26.
Hopefully next weeks MOT wont see me running out of luck!

Hagerty for me too... so long as you have at least 1 other car as your daily driver.

Does anyone with a Hagerty policy know if it includes driving other cars on a third party only basis.

Only if also insured by Hagerty.

What the Hagerty-busters need to realise is that Hagerty provide excellent service and incredibly low premiums FOR PEOPLE THAT FIT THEIR CRITERIA. Their criteria are based on factors which, in their experience, lead to an acceptable risk. TVRs are powerful cars, they are very capable of catching out the unwary, and causing a lot of damage.
I understand bitterness at being turned down when trying to insure your (only) daily driver - but Hagerty offer 'classic car' insurance - not 'normal/only car' insurance. Hence the requirement for a garage, primary vehicle, mileage limit etc. Its refreshing that Hagerty do not seem to insure only cars over 10/15 years old like so many other 'classic' companies.

My re-newal from Classicline is £440, so i gave Hagerty a call. £348 for a 450, 5000 miles/year and i'm 35.. Not quite £300, still an improvement.biggrin

Hagerty just knocked about £130 off the best quote I could get anywhere else - and my Chim lives on the drive :-)
