Help me. My alarm keeps going off intermittently and when I switch it off, then it goes off but the "woo-woo" is out of phase. Then when I started it up and drove around the hazards kept coming on. Any suggestions?

Sounds very much like water ingression into the horn!
Take it off, dry it out and try again. You may want to see if the flashers come on with the horn disconnected.
Hope this helps

Thought it may be something to do with water. Car has dried out a bit now after my wet drive edinburgh-london earlier today and appears to be okay now.

Cheers Al. Will bear that in mind for next time.

I'm assuming that you'd have noticed if the battery went flat and you needed a jump-start, but the symptoms are similar. Not sure if just a naff old low battery would cause similar.

After managing to get into my Chim and running jump leads to it, I switched off the alarm and started the engine. Rather oddly, though, the alarm continued to go off intermittantly, and the immobiliser light was flashing...

Once I'd charged the battery up I locked and unlocked the car, banishing the weirdness to the distant lands of the future.
