Hi,can anyone help me please????

Every so often especially when im going down hill to a junction, my Chim cuts out. Its been happening on and off for 12 months and ive got used to when its going to happen as the rev counter just drops but its been doing it more frequently. Also lately its been revving high sometimes when I stop and there is a whiff of petrol in the passengers side. I mentioned the cutting out to the guys at The TVR centre in Barnet and they said it could be my StepperMotor so the boyfriend cleaned the contacts last night but not sure if thats solved anything.......any suggestions boys and are these problems related?

thanks
Susan

Its not the contacts you need to clean but the piston mechanism on the end of the unit, but you have to remove it from the plenum and use carb cleaner or similar.
