We have a 93 BV which is having some electrical gremlins weeping to say the least. Many of you out there have been wonderful in helping us to sort things so far clap.

However juts had a auto electrician, though I'm dubious, to take a look. He said there may be a problem with the crank and camshaft pickups!!!!.

Am I a right nerd but I didn't think a 93 Griff had these, I thought that was the Range Rover with MBA ignition?

Your thoughts my friends........

Is your problem to do with the vehicle electrics, or the engine management system? If it's in the engine management system, what experience does your chap have with your engine management system?

If it's standard you'll be using a Lucas 14CUX, which is triggered off the ignition circuit. There is no separate crank or cam position sensor.

Peter is correct, it sounds like your 'auto-electrician' should be shamed by name biggrin

The only prob I heard of this type, Joo isolated by disconnecting the rev counter which must have developed a fault which interfered with the signal to the ECU (it only needs to know the engine is spinning AFIK).

Cheers Greenv8s & Spend. Issue is that all the electrics are fine or appear to be however the injectors aren't pumping. We did have an issue with the fuse relay panel which we have replaced, though I didn't do the job so I can't be sure they put all the relevant wires in correctly.

Thought are to run a wire direct from the relay by passing the fuse pane and see what we get?

Going over to Foxton Locks tomorrow a meet with East Midlands, so I'll have a chat around the group.

Many thanks

In that case I'd start with basic fault finding. Are you getting 12v to the +ve side of the injectors? Is the ECU running the pump when the engine is cranking? (This proves that it is powered up and is getting a viable signal from the ignition.) Depending what you get from those tests you can start working back to the underlying cause.

Pete,

Just back in from Foxton Locks, excellent run over from Stamford, via Oakham and Harborough.

Will take on board what you have said about checking power to ECU and injectors. Hopefully can get over to the garage this week and take a look.

Cheers
