Air Con - again!
Discussion
Can anyone tell me where the blower fan is located for a '95 Chimaera with air-con?
I believe cars without air-con have the fan in the forward-most part of the passenger inner wing (RHD). I've had a quick look and can't see any evidence of this so I'm assuming it is either in the inner wing behind the front wheel (and just behind the fuse box) or is built into the black plastic box arrangement immediately above the glovebox-pouch (this I assume is responsible for distributing the air through the pipes to the vents).
Can anyone shed any light on this? If at all possible I'd like to upgrade the fan element as mine is useless (as usual) but I don't fancy dismantling the other half of the dashboard!
Cheers!

Ballistic Banana - the aircon works OK just not much in the way of air volume. I've checked all my pipes (ooer) and taped up all the joints. However, with the exception of my Cerbera none of the other TVRs I've driven have ever had a decent ventilation system when compared to regular cars which is very annoying.
I've been pretty unlucky with using the 'bible'. I either have a different spec' each time or the area concerned isn't convered. I've never felt the need to repair my exhaust with baked-bean tins either! ;-)
The bible mentions the fan for regular cars but doesn't give any detailed info for air-con cars.
I'm expecting the fan to be located within the inner wing but close to the bulkhead / scuttle not down near the lights.
dlewis - does your car have air-con fitted?
The black box of tricks is underneath and behind the dash' in relation to the alarm etc. There's a fair bit of room in there.

I don't suppose you've got a photo of the passenger side do you?
My car doesn't have the additional fan although the holes are there to the inner wing and the fan controls. The vent is there and a pipe runs to it from the main ventilation system which I guess is the difference in an air-con'd set-up.
I know the usual set-up on the passenger side relies on the inner wing being presurised before air travels down the pipes which is why things are so poor and why an upgrade of sticking a fan closer-in works a treat.
A useful picture though! Cheers.
