you just have to put [ p i c ] and [ / p i c ] either side of the link to your piccy (without the spaces by the way!)
Alot of hosts won't let you link to a picture from another site though. But you can sign up to free picture hosting sites like fotango and put you pics on there.

It can be a bit of an involved operation until you get the hang of it.
On of our fellow P/Her's "bodo" explains how to do it far better that I could.
So, have a read through this post and see if you can grasp it.
