Im currently having an issue with my throttle pot sensor as per previous post
Im crap with electrics so bear with me....

throttle pot wires are BROWN, GREEN, BLUE not RED, GREEN,YELLOW as rpi article states
leading down to the multi plug wires which has YELLOW, RED/BLACK, RED
i.e BROWN LEADS TO YELLOW, BLUE LEADS TO RED/BLACK, GREEN TO RED.

To check readings from the multimeter it says place BLACK TO GREEN, RED TO RED on the wires leading from the throttle pot according to rpi`s web site?

which colour goes to which to measure the volts

cheers

I have just done this, and as you said the colours are wrong i cant remember the combination i used, if i get a chance i will reply and yes mine was out not much but it was out, done this with some other tweeks and improved the low end snatching/lurching quite a bit,it was not timing related either.

Hangshead in shame, I had teh same Q's you had as my wires were different colours too. I think Jools (trackcar) was the one to confirm from my notes that I kept smile

you should get a nice rise in volts from around 33mv to 4.5 v with no peaks!

i would be driving take my foot off the gas then put it back on and theres a pause and loss of power but not a splutter or missfire, if i hold the pedal half way it will kick in after about 3-5 seconds and go nuts a bit like dipping the clutch at high revs then dropping it.

cheers Ben thumbup

Hi Ben,

Sounds like it's all back together again then! Is it as quick as you hoped it'd be?

Hows it going Nick

Its stonking now ive got the throttle pot sorted although i still need to switch over to the larger plenum.

Im gonna try and get it on the rolling road soon. The difference is hard to describe i took the girly out in it when the pot was playing up and give it soom beans and her reaction was f*cking hell i then got a 10 minute lecture about driving safelyhehe
Its really tranformed the car it now revs cleanly over 6k ive not tried the limiter out yet!!! and it pulls very hard.

One thing i will say is that Jamie at Castle Race Engines has supplied me with one of his new chips that made a noticable difference on its own i will confirm stats when i can get it to a rolling road.

Hi Jamie if your reading clap

Have you sorted your leak out?

All done now! And to top it off, I fitted my cherry bombs in the week too - sounds awesome evil

I'm glad you've finally got it all back together - although you got royally buggered about before, sounds like it was worth waiting for! My next big project will hopefully be fitting a megasquirt system and coil packs - super smooth, a bit more power and perfect ignition cloud9
