Just changed the T5 gearbox and GKN diff oils in my 95 400. Both the Bible and the owners handbook say: Box 1.4 Litres (2.5 pints) and axle 2 Litres. Have so far put over 2 Litres of Dextron II in the box and it is still not coming out of the filler hole and even with the back jacked up I can't get more than 1.5 Litres of HD90 in the Diff.

Did they get these amounts the wrong way round?

Cheers guys and bring on Le Mans, (on the Thursday Overnight Plymouth ferry) Robin.

Robin,
As long as you fill until the fluid overflows out of the filler hole, you cannot go wrong really.
Did my gearbox a couple of weeks ago after fitting new clutch and took about 3 pints or there abouts. Difficult to measure with a hand pump.
I did have a new input bearing and seal replaced so the box was totally drained
of oil.
Cheers
Paul
