Glass Parted Company From Mirror

The glass has parted company from my off-side rear view mirror. I've tried re-attaching with double sided sticky number plate pads but it doesn't seem to be that secure. Any suggestions for a better (and hopefully more permanent!) solution?

Also, I had bought some light deflectors for driving on the continent but the instructions don't have the chim's lights. If anyone has any idea where to correctly position them, that would be very much appreciated to.

That's surprising: the number plate pads really ought to do the job. Check this photo for the position the beam deflectors need to go (in the same place as the black masking).



When you look at the headlights this area will stand out because of its different pattern.
