Seem to remember another thread on here about holding in the driver's door release button and it pops the boot. Was it a dealer option - Fernies maybe? Someone reckoned it would be a fairly simple mod. Does anyone know how it can be done, or is anyone producing the kit yet?

Mob-wise has a boot release kit based on a reed switch & tiny magnet that can be fitted into the alarm remote. Fit the reed switch behind the number plate, wave the alarm remote over the switch and the boot opens (only works when the doors are unlocked). I fitted one last week and it works a treat.

Do Mod-Wise have a web site?

How much was it?

How long did it take to fit?

Try this www.mod-wise.com/page2.html cost £27.50, fitting reasonably easy, I think they are in the process of updating the instructions to include the Chim (only covered Griff when I fitted my kit) as there are some small mechanical differences in the hook-up to the central locking on the Chim (well there was on my car, 95 M reg). In all took about 2hrs to fit.

The boot on my car will open if the driver door open switch is pressed and held for a few seconds. Does not open the boot if the car is locked.

I think this was an option done at fernies since the car was originaly from there, not an option I have added since owning. Very nice option I must add.
