Just picked up Chimaera on Tuesday, I was sad to see my old MG go, but this grunting beauty more than makes up for it.

2 days of grinning later, I have a couple of questions:

- Occasional smell of petrol, is this normal?
- Passenger window 5mm gap at top on one side. Has anyone experienced similiar?

Look forward to meeting y'all on Track/Club days.

Smell of petrol I get but only after filling up, perhaps its the tank venting??

The gap between the roof and the window could have a couple of cures. Fiddle with the rigid panel, as sometimes it goes over too far on one side leaving a gap on the opposite side. Alternatively there is an adjusting screw on the inside of the door that raises and lowers the window winding mechanism. PH member Trefor has detailed pics on his website, its a pig of a job though and perhaps your friendly dealer may do it gratis if you ask nicely

Welcome and you'll find PH a wealth of information for your new toy, get out there and enjoy it!

Yes.

In my case the sealing strip of rubber on that side of the roof was missing. Once replaced, there's no gap

If more serious the bible has something on 'dropped' windows

Check the petrol pipes in the engine bay for breakdown/perishing. I have recently had these replaced as I was also getting a petrol smell from time to time and this has cured the problem. Only when the old pipes were off could you really see how bad they were.

You can put spacers under the roof to window seal channel that forces the seal lower. Just refill with good old squidge afterwards.

Smell of petrol is probably a leaking/perished rubber pipe off the bottom of the tank. (leads to the pump in the rear nearside wheelarch).

As for the window, lower the glass all the way and prod around in the hairy bit about halfway you should find a long screw angled to the rear about 45 degrees, you can use this to adjust the gap once the window is closed
