Had my Chim sitting out in the rain for these past 5 days(seems like forever) and went out to fire her up yesterday to find battery flat - 24 hours of accumate later she's still the same.
Do I need extra long jump leads and are they difficult to get onto the battery terminals ? (I'm a hefty as in fat b*gger and playing around in the footwell is not easy at all !!)

I don't know if this is of any help, but My battery has on occasions for no apparent reason discharged overnight and I've found that sometimes when I switch off the ignition the charging light stays on (only not as bright) this will 'I think' mean that the ecu and coil etc are still live and thus discharging the battery. This may be down to a sticky ignition relay . I get round it by checking the light every time and switching the ignition till it goes out. I must get round to buying a new relay!!

Not sure if you have already bought long leads, but I used one of the Booster packs as it is easier to connect the leads to the battery. Cost £29.99 from Halfrauds...

Depending on how close you can maneuver the other car normal length jump leads will do it. It's a bit of a wriggle and be very careful not to short out any of the critical electronics down there in the gloomy place you'll be working

Golly that was awkward !
Got jump leads on and she fired up straight away - went for a thrash for 40miles or so and when I returned parked on the drive, stopped the engine, tried to re-start - and nothing.

If you are interested, the Exide X-tra+ Code XP07 is a very good replacement battery and fits into the battery box perfectly. CCA = 760 and Ah Capacity 75. I only replaced my battery recently and wished that I had done so ages ago.
As a point of interest, the old battery was a Tungstone 672, which I believe may have been original equipment. How can I tell the age of that battery?

Had the battery on charge overnight and still flat - battery is definitely taking charge when engine is running - close to 14 volts - so therefore assume its kaput

Any suggestions of who to go to for the best deal ?
