I am after some advice about moving my peddles so the wife can drive the car, she is just over 5ft and with the seat all the way forward she can only just drive the car. To make it more safe I thought about moving the peddles, has anyone done this and is it still ok for some one 5'11 to drive?

Thanks for your help

Leven used to do extended peddles. However, I don't know will it be Ok for your wife with the seat to the front while furthest back for you.

My missus is 5'2", and I tend to screw them all the way out when she drives it......it is still possible for me to drive (but less comfortable) but then again I'm 6'6" tall smile So yes, it should be possible to find a happy medium.....

You don't mention adjusting the pedals.
I assume you know they're all adjustable and how to do it?
If not, see the bible for throttle instructions, the others are obvious.
How far from a satisfactory position are you after adjusting?

Adjust only the brake and clutch that way she only gets 1/2 throttle. Safest way me thinks hehe

You adjust them by undoing the lock nut (17mm.....possibly) in front of the pedal arms, and then turn the pedals in an anti clockwise direction.........you can only adjust the brake and clutch in this manner - I've never bothered with the accelerator.

Easy to do (circa 2mins).......I had a stumpy spanner in the car just in case, but never bothered for the week or two the TVR was used as a car share!

Only the brake and clutch pedal was adjustable on mine, until I fitted a set of Leven pedals with a new accelerator arm that allowed it to become adjustable. It's a bit of a ball-ache adjusting them every time you swap driver, ever thought of buying her some platform shoes? biggrin

I have managed to adjust the B&C after a fight with the C as some monkey had over tightened the nut. Wife is home later so will give it a try.

Thanks for all your help

had the same problem and in addition to adjusting the pedals including bending the throttle to suit I resorted to moving the seat forward a couple of inches - worked a treat - also took one of the throttle return springs off and found the throttle response to be better all round

On the moving the seat location thing.
Do you think you could cope with being a couple of inches closer to the steering wheel?
If yes then have a look at the article Here I wrote on installing the Cerb seats into my Griff. There are pics of the seat runners etc and you can see how the front of the mount already has a spacer. Relatively eash job I think to change the mounting points by putting a 'spacer' in.

The T pedal and arm are pretty much straight forward, it's a bit uncomfortable to do as you are mainly upside down in the footwell!!

1. Un-clip and un-hook the accel cable from the old arm
2. Remove the nuts and bolt that holds the old arm pivots on
3. Remove old arm
4. Fitting the leven one is the same but in reverse
5. Screw in the T pedal and lock in place with the nut like the standard or leven B&C pedals

Took about 1/2 hour to do, as mentioned before you can get either standard length or extended ones.

One note: on fitting mine the new B and C pedals do catch on the steering column

PM me if you want some pics

I had to fit Leven pedals as I am a bit of a short ar*e. Apart from making it an easier reach the Leven pedals are wider that the standard pedals and make it much more comfortable on the sole of your feet.

Hope yours work as well.

Fitted and now the wife can drive, took me about an hour of cutting my hands, I found it easier to release the throttle cable from the throttle housing this gave me a little more room to remove the throttle peddle

Down side C/B for me need to be wound right down but then the thread sticks out to far and hit the bulkhead. I think I am going to get another set so I can do a quick swap another down side more money.

Oh well great product.
