If the starter motor is turning at all thats probably a different problem. The problem I and many others have had is it being totally dead when you try to fire up when the engine is hot and has been standing for a few minutes e.g. when at a petrol station. This mod sorted mine out completely though.

It is simply introducing a relay into the starter circuit. Mr Beer seems to think it is something to do with resistance of wires when it is hot. I believe it is more to do with internal resistance in the starter solenoid & more significantly overloading the immobiliser circuit (relay for this is undoubtedly advantageous!), which of the 2 is more affected by heat/fatigue I can only guess (seem to be more alarm problems than starter motor failures tho
).

Nope, not me ! I have only said a 12-13 amp circuit should not have a 6 amp drop through the wiring up to the footwell, where it joins Range Rover wiring to the solenoid. A hot solenoid may be "sticky" and there is not enough voltage to pull it in. So putting a relay back into the circuit( it was there but was bypassed) means there is not the 6 amp drop.Dave
