I have just got my Chim and the wheels are starting to pickle a little, should I look to get some other types of wheels i.e. Silverstone wheels or should I referb my standard wheels?

Also another thought (not sure why) should I put twin strips up and over the bonnet and boot.

that is a drop-dead-georgeous car you've got there; PLEASE don't put any stripes on it, unless it's temporary for the Le Mans trip.

As for wheels, get 'em refurbished

Hi Neil. Got the Silverstone wheels on mine. Love em more each time i look! Changed mine to modernise the look and to help with tyre choice. Go for powder coated refurbishment if you renovate. Much more durable imho.

Jon.

FWIW, here's mine, with 17" Team Dynamics Motorsport wheels (which are identical to the SP ones, only with rather nasty writing round the rims) all round;

You can get them from Hellfrauds, of all places.

Ditto.

And on for the rest of the year as I have a TVR 60th year sticker over the top..

Big question is if you like the stripes or not. Looks fantastic either way.

Keep your originals or go Estoril route.

Beauty is in the eye......

to me the aftermarkets could look somewhat max power on the chim, although wheels are nice...

These are available second hand - but note they are Estorils not griff wheels. Estorils were fitted to all 500 engined cars griff or chim and an option i think for other derivatives. keep us posted with what you choose

Been considering a change on mine too, mainly cos tyres are getting more and more difficult to find, and expensive too. Surely this is an issue that won't go away....

Oh yeah. wide 15" are becomming very rare. Especially if you want something high performance.

Cheers Zigs! How much do i owe you?? biggrin

Cheapest way forward is to swap 15" for 16". I.e get another pair of rears and stick em on the front. Bit of an argument on other threads as to whether you are best using a small spacer...
