Yes, that's exactly one of the problems it could cause. It would probably restart again straight away and run fine: is that what it does?

SC motor factors sell the genuine NTK(NGK)ones about 75+vat each.dont be tempted to use cheap ones(waste of money)if it was my car i would renew both, just my cents worth.

Try cleaning the step motor first, it's free and easy to do.

Search Ebay for O2 sensors. In particular the currently listed item no. 4647994261 for £18 from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/T-P-GROUP. I have used them in my daughters MR2 to good effect. Check the number of wires on yours before ordering. At this price change them both!

You will need a good wire crimper and a special sensor socket that fits over the wires. And the fitting instructions from the NGK web site http://www.ngksparkplugs.com.

Cheers

Yes, and they wont fit(to big)dont waste your money on cheap probes otherwise you will be renewing them in months rather than years, you get what you pay for which is why the original spec ones last so long, you dont purchase one of these cars to run it on paraffin do you?

dont forget the "wiggle test" ie check by wiggling any visible loom in case of shorting; Had an XJS once and spent over 700 quid at "expert indy", plus another 100 on a fuel pump somewhere else & it was still not right, only to take locally and spend 3 quid for a new connector and 40 quid labour, cos the guy wiggled the wires and sussed the issue.
