Trackday virgin
Discussion
Just some daft questions on trackday with my Chimaera...
Reading the bible I need to pump the tyres up about 2psi higher than normal but also, I'm interested in watch the engine temperature goes up to. Normally in jams or even motoring at speed mine never goes above about 82, at what temp should I pull off the circuit and give it a rest or is it not a problem ?

Fans should cut in at 92 degs and switch off at 87 degs. As long as your cooling system is doing its business properly (sounds it!) you should be fine. This is what these cars are built for remember! A cautious eye cannot be argued against though IMHO. Ultimately, your guage should not go over 90 degs ish.
Remember the car can definitely take it, so long as you're sensible!
Make sure you've topped up the oil, and the rest of the car is in good shape.
Tyre pressure should be a bit higher as you've said.
Most important is probably the actions to take AFTER a session on track. After 10 mins, your brakes will be seriously hot. Follow the advice the organisers will probably give off making the last lap a gentle one and then drive slowly around the car park to cool the brakes down.
Also, leave the bonnet open to get the heat out.
One last point- it's actually quite strenuous driving on track, so plenty of water and chocolate!

I love track days, I'm doing my 5th next week, Castle Coombe with the Porsche 928 club, my first real race track...
It's all up to you, you can take it easy if you want to and no one will bother you about it, be careful, these cars are very powerful and a handfull until you get to know them. My best investment was to take advantage of the pro's who will go out with you and give you lessons.
I hammer it these days and the Chim takes it in stride, I'm always amazed at how well this car takes driving hard, runs perfect all the time (knock on wood), my only problem had been brakes, stock brakes can't handle it, they cook, fade like mad. I did an up-grade and it's much better now, drilled and grooved disks and Red Stuff. Looking forward to see how they cope next week.
Go for it
