On the wqy home from the FoS with the roof down, I got caught in a sudden down pour.

The carpets are now all dry, but still got a slightly musty smell in the car, normally I'd just take the roof off, but with this weather it's not possible.

Any ideas/help appriciated!

Have a go with "Oust" or "Febreze" on to the carpets (you may have to ask your partner to get them as part of the regular Tesco commute wink)

If that doesn't do the trick, then speak to a local car valeter about having the car"fogged" - a "scent bomb" is let off in the car and it's loacked up and left over night. We used to do this regularly in the trade if a car we wanted to sell hade been smoked in. Used to remove all traces of smells...

Hope that helps

Chris

My mum told me this but it works. If you put a container of instant coffee in the car at night (remember to take it out before you go anywhere, it will make a right mess). The coffee absorbs any remaining moisture and smells in the air. You can tell its working if it goes all black and sticky. Helps if you like the smell of coffee, I find that most air fresheners are a bit girly. Why dont they do man ones, like essence de tyre smoke?

If you can borrow a dehumidifier, pop it in the car over night. If you leave the windows open a crack to feed the mains in, block the rest of the gap with rag. You be very supprised how much water will come out !
