Pedal adjustment

Is there any un-written or written advice about the extent you can adjust the pedals? I'm short and want to adjust them right out but worry if I need to leave a certain amount of thread through the pedal lever.

Any idea?

I'm thinking of getting the Leven extended pedal set, anyone used these who is vertically challenged??

Suggest you contact Leven direct, search the members directory for leven and they're in there. I don't remember what height you need to be for them to recommend the long reach set. You don't want so much thread behind the pedal that you limit its travel. When it comes to fitting, you'll have a definite advantage to some of us, as the easiest way I found to do some of the job is done lying on your back with your head in the foot well.

Not too sure of the rules relating to TVR's, but in engineering in general, the minimum engagement would be the diameter of the bolt. i.e 8mm Dia, 8mm engaged.

Personally as a minimum I would make it flush with the underside of the pedal arm.

If I'm not mistaken there is a locking nut that sits on the thread of the pedal that locks it in position on top of the pedal.

If yours has the locking nut located on the underside (back), remove the nut unscrew pedal. Run nut up the pedal screw. Screw pedal back into the arm adjust to max length i.e. flush with the underside of the arm, wind nut down and lock pedal onto position.

Tried to take out the slack on my throttle cable at the weekend, how the **** do you get a spanner on the locking nut on the adjuster beneath the grill thingy?

Just ordered our Leven Extensions in time to pick up the new arrival tomorrow (exited Grin!)

When I spoke to Leven, the reccomended that we needed the long extension set as my wife is only 4ft 11!

Give them a call. They were very helpful.

Personally I can't give you the answers but waiting with anticipation as I have a similar problem. Had my Chim a whole week now (and yes, what a grin) but as I only have a 29" inside leg I feel that i'm too close to the steering wheel. I can see about 2" of thread on the back of the clutch and brake which should be fine, but how on earth do you adjust the throttle?

Page 297 in the bible. There is an adjustable bracket which moves the cable and defines the throttle resting position. Grovel in footwell and look at the pedal box.

Can someone please tell me the lock nut size. I need to beg / borrow / steal or in worst case buy a spanner to undo the nut so that I can adjust the clutch pedal.

We had the Leven "Japanese" pedals fitted when we picked up our Chimaera from James Agger a few weeks ago. They work well for my wife who's 5'2 but at full extension they're a bit close for me at 5'11 with the seat fully back. With a bit of adjustment they'll be perfect. And she's hardly driven the car anyway - something about the wrong shoes... obviously I'm gutted that I have to drive most of the time!

I think a lot of it depends on your preferences too - I've got a 29" inside leg too and have the seat most of the way back and can reach the pedals comfortably ... my wife (5" shorter than me) doesn't need to move the seat either.
