I want to buy box standard HT leads so I've just phoned my local Land Rover garage... £105 plus VAT yikes The guy said that they're about £10 each, this was after he asked 5 times what car it was for!! Anyway needless to say their not getting my business, so where next? Can I just pop into Halfords or Euro Car Parts, If so what vehicle am I matching them to?

Cheers
Neil.

If Landie ones are £105+VAT you'd be better off with some Magnecors...

or race tech have a standard set for 34.00 + VAT...

Thanks for the quick reply! I already has magnicor ones but want to try originals to see if there is any difference. I know it could be £35 pounds poorly spent but i've just replaced the king lead with one from Halfords and the car seems to be a little smoother low down the rev range and the tacho doesn't bounce as much. Not sure I rate the magnicor ones?

Personally I don't, but others do. Pay your money, take your choice.

Any set of Lucas leads for a Land Rover V8 with distributor will be fine. For that reason tell them it's for a Classic 3.9 or a 3.9 Discovery. You might find the king lead is too long, but with the Chimaera coil being mounted where it is, it shouldn't be too short. Cost should be under £40.

TVR power adivised me not to use magnecor as they can cause all sorts of issue such as lumpy running. The reckon standard leads are best. Any yes castle race engines, very good.

Just go to Halfrauds - Excellent Quality Bosch good-to-go at about £28.

Halfrauds similar at £24.

Have had no problem in 3-years usage (Sprints/Hillcimbs/Track days - Touring Europe....general slow-go UK traffic jams!!)
