Ok guys and gals, this is an emergency!!

My '94 chim hasn't turned a wheel yet since i bought it earlier this year. I swore to myself it would be ready to use as the wedding car to come back from the service but I am stuck!

I need to find a master cylinder but I am too skint (what with the wedding costs) to be able to buy one from clevor trevor etc AND insure/tax the tivver plus buy fluids/filters etc etc. If someone can help me out with the part no of the fiesta one that fits, that would be great! My usually reliable factors tried to match the one I took off but said they must have a part no. or can't help!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin

Get wise - go buy the parts you need - tell the GF you need a master cylinder and you don't need a wedding cake - start as you mean to go on.

I thought the same but have your checked that your bride-to-be fits in the passenger side with her wedding dress on? Mine doesn't (it's the dress, not the bride!). cry

I'm just using mine to get me there and to leave for honeymoon.

I'll have to if I can't get the part no. but it will bug the hell out of me knowing a tvr parts place has ordered in a perfectly ordinary fiesta master cylinder, doubled the price and resold it to me.....

BTW I've already started aqs I mean to go on, she bought me the tivver in the first place! thumbup

yeah she will fit as it is a pretty slimline dress apparently. journey back from register office is only 5 mins anyway (10 in a normal car evilbiggrin)

I BET they are! smile I'll try to pop into the TVR Centre, very near me at Elstree, tomorrow and see what I can discover if nobody else has come up with a suggestion. Is it just the brake master cylinder you need? Nick.

As she supplied the TVR can't you get her to fix the fault under the Sale of Goods Act.

If I were you I'd go to your nearest Breakers and identify the one you need by looking under some Ford bonnets.

cheers guys! I'm up to my eyeballs in things to do with only 6 days to go! Will have to swing by the breakers tomorrow or if I can't, just bite the bullet and order one in overnight....

don't want to have to use my bro's boxster instead of the tivver for the big day!

Well if it's bullet biting time, The TVR Centre at Arkley have them at around £55.00 inc. VAT. They had 5 in stock yesterday. As a matter of interest I asked them for a price to fit and that was 1 hour labour = £60 + VAT which of course more than doubles the cost and if yours is U/S you couldn't get thge car there (or even to Castle at Stansted) anyway! Nick.

You're in Stansted? Not a million miles from me.

Blimey, I'd lend you mine for the trip to/from the wedding rather than see a fellow Chim owner get married in a ...........in a...........a..............I can't bring myself to say it.....Porsche hurl

Awaits influx of handbag wielding Porker owners.

Nick the problem bit is the brake master cyl, I have sorted the clutch one already (Rally Design inc a new braided pipe to the union on the bulkhead cos the original cylinder has an unusual 7/16 fitting rather than the 3/8 everyone else uses), but thanks for your effort anyway.

Update - went to the scrappy. Found a 1991 XR2 had a v similar master cyl but bore slightly smaller. Unions were right though. Hagerty (insurance) is not bothered if I have a slightly different cylinder as long as it works so I'm trying this route (cyl should arrive tomorrow). Could be last minute stuff for MOT etc!

Cheers all
