Hi,

The hood on my Chim is looking a bit weathered and I am getting some leaks in the driver footwell (I have already resealed the cables under the bonnet). I am looking to reseal the hood.

I spotted when I was ordering replacement seals that Woodys stock a variety of products for this purpose.
http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-116-hood-renovatio...

I was thinking of;
Soft Top Cleaner
Renovo Hood Reviver
Ultra Proofer

At about 50 quid all in......or is there something better?

I was previously thinking of using Fabsil but I would like to re-blacken the hood also.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers

If you do a search you will find other threads on this subject. I have used all the renovo products you mention and the rear screen cleaner , all to good effect on 3 different cars. I have only used the black and it works very well.

Get the right one, though. There are about 4 different kinds....

I've used Fabsil and it worked great,,, so far. Even though the sealant is clear my hood looked like new afterwards. It was darker and some old white polish stains disappeared. I think Autoglym aslo do a reproofer and a hood cleaner.

Yes they do. I've used it & it's great. Again, although it's clear, the cleaner really lifted the ingrained dirt and the hood appeared blacker afterwards. Very easy to use & streak free. You don't have to wait for the cleaner to completely dry before applying the waterproofer either.

Fabsil (Gold) for me. I've used the Thomsons water seal but IMO the Fabsil was much better! You can but it in any decent outdoors type place.
