Hmmm, if you take a guess at a fuel price of about 95 PPL then my maths makes that just under 10mpg.!!!

You dont say what size the engine is ,but it shouldnt make too much difference.

So, either there is something wrong or your right foot is goddam heavy...

Does it smell of hyrdocarbons?

I would get it checked over , bit of outlay may soon repay itself.

I was about to offer some help by way of a yardstick....

But...I realised I haven't got a clue what mine does - never looked paperbag

What sort of journeys? If I use mine for local runs only, then I am about the same but 300 miles on a run to a tank pretty much every time.

With the Griff 500 I've seen a range from 13.5 mpg to 21.5 mpg.
I'm sure that it would do much better on a steady motorway run
@80-90 mph but so far that hasn't happened. The 13.5 mpg was a very spirited drive in the hills around Derbyshire and the 21.5 mpg was overall on the run to Lemans and back when there was two of us in the car and it was packed full of camping gear etc. Again that trip was never going to be anything other than fast and fun.
Running around town it seems to average around 16 mpg.

Colin.

All i can say is mines pretty good on a run i reckon about 28,but bloody greedy around the suburbs i reckon beetween 15 and 18 to the gallon, its an eight what can you expect i think i might be a tad concerned if i was getting 45mpg outta 20 squids though,my guess is you may have temperature sensor or a lambda probe or two causing problems, that is certainly excessive fuel consumption i would strongly advise changing the oil and filter when you get it fixed too,it will probably drain out like tap water(diluted from all the unburnt fuel),i had a lambda probe go down(precat crashed into it) and in two journeys i made it made the fuel gauge drop rapidly.

i get around 18-20 on average out of my 450. alot more if pootling on a motorway..

I agree with the Daddy it could more than likely be a sensor thats playing up. I know if the Coolant Temp Sensor is faulty it will think the car is too cool and will overfuel..

I think a checkup would be a good idea

£20 would get me about 80 miles.

That's on my normal journey of 10 miles to/from work every day.

Use mine every day. Average 19mpg. Best I have got is 21mpg

Sure I could get more, and keep intending on driving sensibly to see what the best i can get is, but far too tempting to press the loud peddle! biggrin

I average around 20ish mpg in my 400. At about 99p a litre for Super I get around 170 miles to about £35 worth of fuel. That is with a mixture of easy and hard running with a lot of overrun inducement….

So was my old 450 running very well, benefitting from the constant motorway miles, or have you lot just got binary throttle control..? hehe

I normally get around 19mpg from my 500 and thats for a pretty mixed bag of road types/traffic conditions.
