After a year of accurate ice warnings, my light is now on permanently - alternating between the colours. I know the weather is crap, but I don't recall seeing much ice around... Any ideas?

Its a standard Chimaera feature. Its called the dashboard disco. My ice light goes into disco mode if the outside temp is anything below 10 deg C ish. You need to replace the thingumy .. umm thermistor ? IIRC the bible tells you how.

If it is anything like mine the thermistor is just floating around under the rad at the end of the cable and not attched so after a while it suffers from being battered around and the contact gets broken. a short term fix to stop the disco and turn the light off is to short it. I keep meaning to replace the thermistor and stick it down (probably with a bit of silicone sealant) but having got the light out haven't got round to it. I believe from checking the one removed that a 15k thermistor is around about the right resistance but this could be wrong.
